Direct Entry Captain ATR
Requirements
Basic Requirements of Flight Crew:
• Academic Qualifications
Pass School Certificate or equivalent with minimum Grade B in Mathematics
Or
Pass School Certificate or equivalent and a valid ATPL
Or
Pass Final Secondary Education Certificate with Mathematics or Physics
• Medical: In case of Medical Restrictions, Air Mauritius reserves the right not to accept the medical certificate
• License: Valid ICAO license or equivalent and as acceptable by the Mauritius Department of Civil Aviation
• Minimum age: 18 years as at date of application.
• Maximum age: 62 at closing date of External Vacancy Notice (EVN).
• Valid passport
• Valid Certificate of Character or Police Clearance Certificate from country of residence
• English Language Level 5 or higher
• Flight crew meeting the above Basic Requirements shall maintain valid license and medical throughout the selection process.
• License Requirement: Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with valid Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR) (ICAO or equivalent)
• Total Flight Hours: Minimum 4000 hours on EASA PART 25 Aircraft
• Current ATR Type-Rating: Minimum of 1000 hours as PIC on ATR or equivalent.
• Minimum 500 flying hours on type as primary crew
• Recent Flight Experience: 150 hours in the last 12 months on type
• Candidates shall meet requirements of local authorities
• Candidate must pass an Air Mauritius technical exam
• Applications close on 31st December 2026

1. Copies of licenses including Medical, front page of passport, testimonials/reference letters should be submitted with the application form
2. All licenses and medical certificates shall remain valid throughout the selection exercise
3. Police Clearance Certificate/Certificate Of Character (Optional, however a requirement before Psychometric Test)
